From August 2026, marketplace platforms and delivery partners are required by Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) to check sellers' compliance with their environmental obligations for packaging.
In short, an online seller must: be registered in the packaging producers' register, declare the quantities placed on the market and meet the financial obligations.
